Hi everybody,
I'm going to build a new computer, and I know that retail versions of Windows can be transferred to a new computer, and the old computer will be deactivated, while OEM versions are restricted to the first installed computer. The thing is, I downloaded my Windows through a program at my university, and I'm not sure what type I have. So my question is, is there a way to tell if it's OEM or retail from the product ID, or anywhere else. My friend has an all-in-one HP, and their product ID says OEM in the second section, and mine does not have that, so does that mean mine is not OEM?

FYI, I have Windows 7 Pro x64.

My product ID: XXXXX-XXX-XXXXXXX-XXXXX, all X's are numbers
My friend's ID: XXXXX-OEM-XXXXXXX-XXXXX

I think MSDNAA licenses are just like retail licenses except for the restrictions of the MSDNAA agreement (can't sell to other people, etc.)

Wouldn't make sense if they are restricted to just one machine.
