Hi All,

As the title says, I'm wondering if my AORUS Gen 4 7000s can be used safely with my ROG STRIX z690a heat sinks instead of the one it came with. It wont fit on my motherboard you see, to chunky. Its idling at 31.9 C and there about; this is while installing and lots of files and restoring from backups etc for around 4 hours.

The heat sink I've installed it into (m.2 gen 4_1) has a double sided heatsink also, like the one my AORUS came with, though, with the heat sink taken off, there is no heat spreader like on NVMES' that come without heat sinks.

Any help and tips would be appreciated.

I don't see why not since it's part of the board and intended for use with whatever NVME drive is installed. Lot's of drives and boards don't even have heatsinks so unless something is missing that needs to be there I see no reason it won't work fine.
