Is it ok to turn computer on and off when no OS is installed?

Hi, I've just built my first PC and I've been testing it by turning it on an off via the power button just to make sure that things are operating as they should. However, since I haven't received the DVD drive that I ordered in the mail yet, I haven't been able to install the OS. My question is is there a possibility that I'm damaging the components without doing the recommended shut-down procedure that Windows offers? Thanks!

It is fine turning it on and off! Windows shut down is to protect software installations!
