[SOLVED] Is it okay to enable XMP on single channel memory ?

There will be some benefit. But not as much as dual channel.
Buying "another stick" has no guarantee of working as a set. Manufacturers sell matched sets of RAM, because they have been tested and guaranteed to work together. Buying two random DIMMs, even if the same brand and model, have no guarantee of playing nicely. Buy a matched set.
