Hello guys, first post here but I had the need to ask this (most likely) stupid question. I recently got a PC built by someone else and due to my lack of trust in humankind I looked up what components I had had installed. It says I have an i7-4790 in the My Computer > Properties tab. Now the real problem comes when I went to the msinfo tab and I saw this name everywhere: "intel(r) xeon(r) processor e3-1200 v3/4th gen core processor". So, because of my absolute lack of knowledge of computers I have come to believe that somehow whoever built my computer tricked it into thinking that it has another CPU installed, a better one I suppose, to make some extra cash. If this is actually a cringy question at least let me know so I can laugh a little. Thanks in advance.

Solution
So far so good. The E3-1200 Product Family uses a LGA 1155 motherboard. The 4790 needs a LGA 1150 motherboard. The two are incompatible, so just to be sure can you post your motherboard model number? It should be written on the board itself like this:

Oh right, it's an Asus H81m-plus. I looked it up myself and yes it seems to be a 1150 socket. I guess that's it, thank you so much.
