Is it possible to use a second router as a wifi adapter?

I'm wondering if there's a way to use a second router to act like sort of a repeater for my network, letting me then connect it physically with my PC using an Ethernet, my theory plays out like this;

I've got a USB WiFi adapter currently, it's not very good and can be frustrating at times, I've already purchased too many of these, as they keep burning out due to the amount of games i play and how much i use the internet, i was thinking that maybe if i buy a router, (in this case its the Dlink DIR-605L cloud router) and then somehow configure it with my internet connection, i'd be able to use it as if it was a mother router and i could simply plug an ethernet in and it'd work, but i haven't found a solution to this. Can someone help me out?

Yes it is possible. The term for that configuration is a wireless bridge adapter. I would recommend getting a router that you can use DD-WRT or Tomato firmware. There are tutorials on setting up those firmware types as wireless bridges.
