Is it possible to wire a SATA Data cable to a USB 2.0 cable via soldering?

So I'm trying to sort-of create a SATA to USB device so I can recover files on my HDD from an old laptop? I ripped a SATA cable out of an old Xbox 360. There's this little gadget that I think transfers data from the Xbox's HDD to the Xbox's Mobo. So i tore it out, opened the wires up ect... I found a basic SATA data cable, and 4 yellow wires connected to the 15-pin side (I know this is for power). My question is, is there ANYTHING I can do to solder a SATA data cable to a USB 2.0 so that I can access this hard drive?

EDIT:
Or, how could I go about making a FEMALE SATA DATA to MALE USB device? Kinda like one seen here;

Hey there, Pshychonauts.

Unfortuantely you can't do that, just as @Emerald said. However if you can find an exact same PCB with standard SATA connection, perhaps you could try switching it with the one on your drive has. If everything works fine, you could either connect it internally to a computer or externally (via a SATA to USB adapter, docking station, or an external enclosure). Note that this is a pretty long shot and it's not the best option. Your most reliable way to recover data would be - a data recovery company.

Hope that helps.
