Hello everyone,
I just bought a new UPS (NOD U-2000) for my computer and the rest of my system, which includes an RX 6950XT, R7 5800X3D, 32GB DDR4-3200, a 5TB SSD, a 14TB hard drive, two monitors (32" and 25"), and 2.1 Edifier speakers.
There is one issue: my secondary 25" monitor is too far from the UPS to plug in directly. I thought of using an available extension cord. However, I have read in the past that using extension cords with a UPS isn’t safe—although those warnings referred to plugging the UPS into an extension cord rather than plugging an extension cord into the UPS.
So, my question is: Is it safe to plug an extension cord directly into one of my UPS's rear sockets to power my second monitor?
For clarification, the UPS is plugged directly into the wall outlet, and the extension cord is connected to one of the UPS's rear sockets.
It's not the end of the world if my secondary monitor isn't connected to the UPS, but if possible, I'd like to connect it.
