So i am thinking of building my first gaming PC, I've got about 1100 to spend not including peripherals and i aim to play MW, BFV, and Metro and any future games. Is now the best time to buy something like a 9600k and a 2070 super or 2060 super? I know the new one are coming out but dont know when. What is your opinion should i wait for the new 3000 series Nvidia gpus and the tiger lake cpu's or is that not worth it.

Do you think intels is worth the wait, and amd too? Or should i get a rtx 2070 or 2060 and pair it with a ryzen cpu? idk how long it will take for the new ones to come out and i was planning on buying a setup now and selling the parts i would upgrade later on.

The 5700XT costs as much as the 2060 Super, but, outperforms both...and should be great for 1080P or 1440P, IMO...

Think that'll be pretty close.

Samsung NVME for OS drive. Board takes one Nvme drive. Sata drives are still decent.

I am d'accord with most of the build, but imho a Samsung 970 evo plus is unwisely spend money in a budget build like this. 80 dollar go a long way in upgrading the gpu or getting a really good air cooler. For that money even an upgrade to a 2 tb mx500 is in reach.
You could also save some bucks on the ram

This would be my take:

You could save some bucks on the case if you want to, but I think the Meshify C is solid. The cheaper Ram and storage allow for an upgrade to a 2060 super with a decend cooler design. My personal pick would be a 5700xt, but since you asked for an Nvidia card, this is it.

Thank you very much, i will look over it and see if there are any local cheaper deals and go from there. I appreciate it. But do you think a build like this is worth it rn with everything going on and new parts coming out later this year? I would like to get your oppinion.

Im open to criticism. Edit the build and see what you can come up with 🙂

In my opinion the problem with potentially better parts looming on the horizon is a never ending story. Once you are finishdd waiting for Ryzen 4000, you can start waiting for Intel 11 gen, Nvidia 3000, big Navi and then Ryzen 5000.
At one point in time you want to build the machine and there will be new tech coming still.
Another problem is availability of new parts. Even if launched in Q3 2020 you might not get your hand on a R7 4800x until January 2021.
My opinion on this is as subjective as the next mans on this, but I would only wait on new tech if I knew it is coming in the next month.

ah ok and we only know that benchmarks are coming in the end of may so i think i should build it now before prices get gouged even more than they are now. Thank for your oppinion.

how come u chose the 3600 and the 3600x or an intel 9600k or something close ? BEcause the 3600x is only 26 dollars more expensive.

This should answer your question.

Both overclock similar. 3600x comes with a better cooler but if plan to use aftermarket cooling in future, this wouldn't matter really.

If 9600k had HT, it would be a different story.

Ah ok, would you mind looking at my newest post/question and giving your advice, i redid the build a little and I'm worried how it says i might need another cpu to to update the bios on my b450 mobo, thanks

Which question? About 3600 vs 3600x or if it's worth buying now?

Which motherboard are you referring to about needing an earlier gen cpu to update bios?

Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard
because PC partpicker says this board will need a 1st or 2nd gen ryzen cpu but someone said that the max board from msu are shipped with the update but idk and i decided to go with the 3600 as its better bang for your buck

VRM on the Tomahawk Max is second to none as previously mentioned and Msi re-released B450's under the Max banner containing 3rd gen bios. All other's will depend when the product was released from the manufacturer. If it's old stock then a 1st/2nd gen processor will be needed to update.

You'd have to talk to the seller and see if there's a sticker on the box or motherboard itself indicating 3rd gen ready or bios version.

PCPP also warns about the Tomahawk Max being compatible. This site isn't always correct, covering their own bum.
