Hello, i want to ask if it's worth upgrading ryzen 7 3800x to ryzen 5800x, while 7000 series is available on market but for that i am gonna need to spend more money to upgrade.

Basically ryzen 7 5800x costs 200 euros , and if i want to upgrade into 7000 series , i am gonna need new ram , new mobo and the cpu of course, i do believe the second choice is gonna cost around 400 euros at least.

I want to upgrade because i think there is bottleneck between my cpu and gpu.

What is your opinion ?

gpu -> RTX 3070 aorus
ram -> 32gb 4000mhz
mobo -> aorus x570 pro

In the USA the Ryzen 7 5700X is the best value for performance CPU for AM4. I'm not sure of the price difference in the 5700X and 5800X where you live.

*Edit: The 5800X is down in price. Not a bad deal.

There may be some instances where your CPU holds you back. What resolution and refresh rate are you using?

If you think a nominal 20% speed increase is worthwhile, buy the 5800X. I didn't bother upgrading my 3800X, but eventually bought a whole new AM5 7950X system.

i went from a 3600x to a 5900x and i can feel the difference.

it's not twice the speed or anything, but there is a clear speed increase in day to day use to me.

the "mythical bottleneck" thing is always wildly overstated and rarely worth such a single gen upgrade though. but it's up to you if you wanna spend the cash for an upgrade that likely won't do what you are thinking.

unless you can prove your cpu is holding back your gpu, an upgrade is not worth it.

Well I am using 2k monitor with 144 refresh rate , that’s why I do believe that the problem is the cpu ! @Math Geek @Misgar
