Is it worth removing the Corsair 200r drive bays...

I was just wondering would it be worth removing the drive bays for better airflow? I could put my SSD behind the back of the case area and maybe the HDD, possibly if not then replace the bay cage with the HDD if you get where I'm coming from... gives me an option for another fan also.

Thanks,
Connor

Don't forget that HDDs need cooling, also. Unless the drive bays are full of components, I doubt that it would improve the airflow much, if any, to remove it. It was designed to provide cooling for the HDDs and airflow for the rest of the machine.

You asked if it would be worth it to remove the cage. I am thinking that with having to relocate your drives, and the minimal, if any, improvement in airflow, that it would be more trouble than it is worth. YMMV.

I wouldn't worry about it, your case's airflow is good enough the way it is.
Time: 0.30s is the airflow test

Seems to flow well everywhere around the motherboard, don't think anything needs to be done.

Though adding an extra fan below is possible and quite common for cases to have two intake fans. HDDs don't need a lot of cooling, long as hot air is pushed out and stays reasonably cool in side the case, they should be happy.

Not sure if it will benefit you but might be a project. Get a temp reading before and after and see :)

Literally just finished assembling the drive cage... It was pointless and just exposed the case from behind even more, although I did improve on some more cable management. If I'm going to upgrade to anything next it will defiantly be a new PSU and case, wish I knew before hand, you only learn :)
