Is it worth the upgrade?

I'm thinking about upgrading my graphics card since some of the newer games have been giving me some slowdown, but I'm not sure if it'll make that much of a difference because my other parts might be holding it back. Right now I've got:

Pentium D 930 Dual-core 3.0 Ghz (systemrequirements.com rates it at 5.4 Ghz)
3.5 Ghz DDR2 PC4200 RAM
XFX nVidia GeForce 7600 GS

The card I want to upgrade to is the EVGA GeForce 260 Superclocked 216 Core. Is it worth the upgrade at this point? I could always buy the card now and then if I decide to build a new rig later, I could throw it in there. Thanks in advance.

Mmh, i didn't know Pentium D were dual cores. and i thought the clock speed barrier for those cpu's were at 4.0ghz.

You shouldn't get much slowdowns with the specs, but there may be some un-noticeable speeds.

Get a 4670 for now and wait until Direct X 11 comes out then you'll have enough money to build a new rig by then while you can play most games on high.

Anyway, i researched the card and DX11 a little bit and I think I'm going to pick up a 4670 or a 8800 later this week. Thanks for the heads up on DirectX 11.
