Is my gtx 560 ti 2gb SC underperforming?

Hello, i recently built a new computer and i feel that my graphics card is some what underperforming since i've seen other youtube videos of people having better framerates playing games like bf3 with the same card. This is my rig...

Usually when i play bf3 multiplayer i get anywhere between 30-60 fps at 1440x900 resolution with an average of 40fps. I've seen people play bf3 with the same card at 1080p with just about the same framerate range. To me this doesn't seem right at all. What do you guys think?

I have had a gigabyte gtx 560 ti soc 1gb along with a i5 760, I used to get about 30-50fps at 1920x1080 ultra (with 30 being the absolute minimum at very intense scenes). So yeah with your rig, you should be getting similar results if not higher My cpu was overclocked to 3.6ghz and my gpu was 1000mhz/4580mhz. Have you tried overclocking your cpu/gpu? Do you have the latest nivdia drivers installed? www.nvidia.com/page/drivers.html

i have tried to overclock but i was unsatisfied with the temperature. Sometimes it reached to about 70 to 75c with 950mhz gpu clock and 1050mv. I have not tried to overclock my cpu but i doubt that its the issue at all. Yes, i also have the newest driver. My default clock is set to 822mhz by the way.

I'm actually quite sure that my gpu is sort of underperforming. Sometimes i see the gpu dropping in the high 20s and its very noticeable and annoying when it gets back up to 50 or 60. Could this have anything to do with vsync? I really just ran out of ideas as to why other people's 560s are better than mine. The temperature also gets insanely hot when i leave the fanspeed at 30% and at 50% it gets to about 72c for only a few minutes. I also doubt it is a cooling issue since i have 3 fans around it and a huge 200mm fan on the side panel blowing right in it. I'm thinking of just doing an RMA.

72c is not insanely hot for a gpu under load, as long as you stay below 99, you'd be fine. altho just to be safe, you should make 85 your highest point. Now yeah vsync might be an issue, I always keep it off cause it lowers my fps all the time. tbh I have noticed some massive differences after overclocking my cpu from 2.8ghz to 3.6ghz..Everything is so much smoother, faster even when I run the games. But your sandy bridge cpu is theoretically better than my i5 760..but still its worth a shot, you can overclock your cpu a little on your z77 mobo even without changing the cooler. If the issue still exists, then I guess you should RMA.

Btw what's your 3dmark11 p score? That's a good way to compare your gpu with others.

well i just oced my gpu from 822mhz to 950mhz and also made a fan profile to keep the gpu cooler....these are the scores i got

One more question though. Could it cause any harm if i make a fan profile where the fan speeds goes 20% above the current temperature? lets say the temperature for the gpu is at 50c then fan will be at 70%? could that cause any harm to the fan or the card? It seems that when i do this the card remains nice and cold even after an overclock.

nope that's perfectly safe. i used to leave my gtx 580 fan 99% all the time. I overclocked it like crazy to 988/1972/4650 from a base 782/1564/2050 configuration clocks. The card is still running like a champ.
