Is my gtx 970 defective?

So I have a evga ftw 970 and My firestike score has been a lot lower from other 970 scores i've seen. Firestrike standard: 9067
I even oc it a tiny bit
System specs:
I54690k base clock
8gb ripjaws
WD Blue HD
Corsair ax 1200w gold
Hyper evo 212
I'll post the clocks speeds of the gpu when I get home btw

Synthetic benchmarks can act very differently system to system based on every aspect of hardware and overclocks (memory, gpu, cpu, all the way down to ram timings)

I would probably do some game benchmarks and see if it compares to other systems like yours. Tomshardware has some benchmarks posted on the this site, if you don't have any of the games that Tomshardware benchmarks you have other references around the internet.
