So I just built my first ever PC with:
MBD: MSI PRO B550M-VC WIFI AM4
GPU: RX 6600
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 from my friend
RAM: 32GB Ripjaws V Series
The thing is when I finished building it, it would not POST and eventually found out that the CPU light was on and that the Ryzen 5 2600 is unsupported on this motherboard. I've read that something like this can kill the motherboard so am I screwed or do I just need to install a compatible CPU?
