I've had this mouse for about a year now and for some reason it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting over and over again. this is very annoying when im playing games because in the middle of an important event such as a teamfight, my mouse disconnects and we end up losing because of that 1 mistake that I make with the dead mouse. Yes I've tried the other solutions and none of them have seemed to work. They have only been slight temporary solutions. Could anyone help me with this?? I have a microsoft intellimouse explorer 3.0.

Solution
If it's a wireless mouse, replace the batteries. If it's not, clean off the contacts on the USB end with a tooth brush and 90% rubbing alcohol.
It is not about how old the mouse is. It is about what condition it is in. Sounds like that mouse has been abused badly and not connections are intermittent. I have no idea what you mean by "other solutions", but for a failing mouse due to hardware failure, your only real option is to replace the mouse.

Even a super cheap mouse like this
https://www.amazon.com/Laptop-Wired-Optical-Gaming-Mouses/dp/B01MS80RMT/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1528411350&sr=1-1&keywords=mouse
has 99% chance of not getting random disconnects.

I say 99% because cheat crap from Amazon is mixed bag usually with quality control problems. But even with those odds I'd bet on the cheap mouse being better than mouse that you know have problems.

im going to try cleaning the contacts. I tried it on a different laptop but I don't have enough time with it because the laptop is in a pretty bad condition too. I'm going to try to ask my friend to test it on his computer for me. I'll post my results with the rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush.
