Is my overclockes GTX 750 the result of the freezing when I game?

I over clocked my GTX 750 to a safe core clcok and doubled the memory clock which is also safe. Is this the reason for my freezing when I play sleeping dogs and far cry 3? Should I tone down the clock many thanks
