Is my PC compatible with a 16GB RAM?

Im considering upgrading to a 16GB RAM DDR3, but im not sure whether my PC is compatible

I have an
Intel-core i7 Processor 6700
Nvidia Geforce GTX 745
And currently 8gb DDR3 Memory Ram

Im not that knownledge about PC components and compatibility
So any help would be appreciated.

What's your MoBo make and model?

But in general, i7-6700 will support up to 64 GB of RAM.

Do note that when getting new RAM stick, do get the same make, model and speed RAM as your previous stick is, just to avoid RAM compatibility issues between the two sticks.

Can do the next for parts,

download hwinfo32,
install and open it=click run,
close the top window which is the system summary,
in the main window at the left top click "save report",
at the bottom of the next window check "short text report",
after that you'll see what's in the pc,
copy by clicking "copy to clipboard" and rightclick+paste in your next respons

gives info about the ram too for search of best compatible ram.Would be best to sell current ram and buy a 16gb set to mention it.Adding ram can give problems.

Im using an Acer Desktop, model Aspire X3-710
how can i check the make, model and speed RAM of my previous RAM stick?

Can do what i suggested above. Other option for just ram is using cpu-z (freeware) and look at the spd tab for partnr. info. Can post a picture of that spd tab here as well,

Can use Imgur to post a picture here,use the "img" link.
Click "new post" ->choose "upload images" -> "browse" ->choose the picture and click "open" ->put cursor on the picture that you uploaded->choose "share links" and copy the img link,paste it in your next post.
