Is my problem with the RAM or the MB?

I was running my 850 TB at 1ghz for about the last four weeks (7.5x133). Suddenly one day win98 blue screened and then the machine wouldn't POST. I determined that my RAM was fried (256 cas3) and bought some temp memory (128 cas3) while I did an RMA on the 256. With the 128 in it ran at 1ghz for a couple of days then blue screened again and wouldn't POST. I determined that it was just the MB (asus a7v133a) freaking out due to the overclock and tried the 256 again. Everything booted perfectly at 850x100.

But now if I set the multiplier to 7.5x100 or less the machine won't post. This is most likely a RAM thing right? Well, it won't do 7.5 with ANY RAM in ANY configuration now. It does 8.0 but no lower. I'm going to try to adjust the multiplier in the L6 bridges tonight.

My CPU doesn't like to run much above 1050mhz so I'm screwed. I don't care how fast the CPU is but I want the 133 bus increase and I can't do that without lowering the mulitiplier. BTW, core temp is 59c as reported by the Aus MB utility.

Any ideas?

Should I try putting a cooler on the CPU? Just kidding.
