New build in Nov 2012: ASUS P8Z77-V LX, I7-3770K, 8GB Corsair RAM, Samsung DVD-RW, 212 EVO CPU Cooler, Zalman Z11 ATX Case.
I installed a Zalman ZM500-GS PSU. I've been able to overclock the CPU to 4.7, run all kinds of stress tests, etc and the rig has stood up well.
In April I also installed XFX HD 7970 Core edition and until recently the system has behaved itself.
In the last month or so I've been getting system crashes where the mobo detects power supply surges and anti-surge kicks in. I can replicate the crash with 3DMark11 Basic. GPU-Z shows GPU temps at 75C and high VDDC currents.
Reading forum posts suggests either mobo, GPU or PSU at fault here. I was always a little unsure that the ZM500-GS was enough for my rig. Has it degraded and is not now good enough?
Any thoughts?
TIA
