Is my PSU enough?

Here are my components:
Gigabyte X58A-UD7
Intel i7-930 @ 4.2 GHz (1.36V)
Noctua NH-D14
2x Sapphire HD 6970 CrossFire
Corsair XMS3 3x2GB @ 1600 MHz
3x HDD + 1x SSD + 1x DVD

I have Corsair HX 850W and I'm wondering is it enough? Activity on both GPUs won't cross 50%, is that because of PSU or maybe CPU? I can buy HX 1050W if it's necessary, but I would like to be sure. I might also buy 980X or 990X so PSU should be strong enough.

The TX950 is recommended by the Corsair PSU finder. Punch in your CPU, GPU, and number of hard drives you're powering.

Threre's more to specing your PSU than the GPU. Overclocking, HDDs, fans.....they all add up. It may power it ok, but personally I want my PSU operating in the sweet spot of the efficiency curve for longer life and more efficiency.

What CPU is used there? I'm worried that my CPU isn't enough to handle both GPUs, so if I get better CPU, would my PSU be enough?

^ This is correct. You are FINE with what you have.

personally i wouldn't trust the tools from the manufacturer for this kind of thing.

thirdparty all the way as they dont have anything to gain from lying to you

the best way to actually tell what you need is to search the net to see what people have actually recorded using a watt measuring device

i believe in some places they are called a clamp meter.
