This is my first time overclocking, and i'm a bit nervous about the temperatures. I'm using the intel it 3570k cpu. I've overclocked it to 4.2 ghz, and the temps with prime95 is around 75c average, with the highest being 80. (Package is 85 highest) Is this a safe heat to go with, or should I knock it down a little? Oh, and my idle temps are around 45.

Solution
It is safe, but if you can get it to around 75'c it would the optimal. However, keep in mind that Prime95 stresses CPU stronger like no other ordinary game/app/program, so don't think when your CPU is working normally on games/apps etc it will reach 80'C, because in most cases it won't
