Is overclocking your GPU worth it?

I heard something that overclocking your GPU only gives a few more fps and makes the gpu work a lot harder?

Really depends on the GPU usually a factory overclock card is about the best it can reasonably get

Free performance? Yes please. I overclocked my last card before I even started a game up with it. It's generally risk free unless you intentionally screw something up, and will gain you maybe 10% extra FPS you wouldn't normally have.

some cards yes others no mine overclock by 30% giving a huge boost but others not so much
