Is speed or cache more important?

I have a Dell Dimension 8400 with the Pentium 4 550 (3.4gHz 1MB L2 cache).
I am considering getting a Pentium 4 630 (3.0gHz 2MB L2 cache) to replace
the existing CPU with 1MB cache. Is this a good idea? Will I gain a lot in
performance by doing this? I am wondering which is better...having .4gHz
more processor power or twice as much cache.

You will gain nothing worthwhile or noticeable. The CPU is only one of many
variables that together determine the speed of your computer.

Thank you for the link. I have noticed that the 550 outperforms the 630 by
a small margin in every benchmark, so I guess I will stick with the CPU that
I already have.
