Is the 4 pin ATX V2 essential in running a PC?

So I just bought a new PSU for my PC. It's a Corsair CX750M. However, I found a 4 pin slot that my previous power supply connected to that this one does not (It doesn't have the cable for it). I believe it to be an ATX 4 pin power slot.

Is this connection essential for the computer to run?

I don't want to damage it or anything so I'm refraining from turning it on...
