Is the AMD-RX560 enough for todays games?

Hi guys, it's been a while!

I don't know an awful lot about AMD cards, since I've always had nVidia, but I've been thinking of getting one of these lately, I can't quite afford the RX570 just yet. So would the RX560 2GB edition be any good for demanding titles these days?

There is a big difference in speed between the 560 and 570
If you can save more for the 570 do that

Well.. I could go for the RX570, but what I'm asking this, is it crucial at the moment, in order to play games like Fallout 4, Metro Exodus, GTA 5, ARMA 3, Skyrim Special Edition, Call of Duty WWII and a whole lot of other games? I would say games from 2015 and up are the ones I'm concerned about.

What res are you playing at? Also what are your other specs? While a RX 560/570 would be good for 1080P or less res if you have a low end CPU then a better card may not help much.

The rest of my specs are
CPU - up to 4.0ghz intel core i5 8400
RAM - 1600mhz - 8GB
HDD - 7200rpm 1TB

I play at 1080p

Whats holding me back is the old nVidia 550ti that I've had for years now

How has that 550 ti been treating you? I sold my good system to pay for car parts and I've resorted to using some older parts including two EVGA 550 ti 2gb versions for now as I don't have the extra cash for a better GPU. I will be pairing those with a G5400 (placeholder for i5-9600K eventually)/8gb RAM for 1600x900 gaming. Then I'll probably upgrade the GPU's with a AMD Navi GPU hopefully.

I sold my good system to pay for car parts and I've resorted to using some older parts including two EVGA 550 ti 2gb versions for now as I don't have the extra cash for a better GPU. Oh yeah its been a real trusty steed, I love my old card.. lol, its very noisy though. before I really became a PC gamer, somebody gave me an old Pentuim Dual Core PC with 3GB of ram only haha, which I then bought the 550ti for. it did me well, I could play the old edition of Skyrim at 60fps on med-high settings, I could play Dark Souls fully without any lag, a couple other games I was able to play at a decent frame rate were GTA IV, Operation Flashpoint Red River, Sims 3 (easily), metro 2033 and last light (not there redux versions). I learn't that most games up to maybe 2013 will do fine on a 550ti. its just the noise.. man!! this thing screams. lol ..like you with swear a space ship is taking off.

On demanding games you're looking at closer to 30fps at 1080p with a 560, and low to medium settings. With a 570 you're looking at close to 60fps at medium to high settings. You have an i5 8400, it would be a shame to hobble it with a 560. However, at least it will be an improvement over what you have now, and will allow you to play those games.

I've heard the noise can be quite loud, I cleaned them out the best I could and repasted them so hopefully it won't be too bad, I'll be assembling/running tomorrow night so fingers crossed and thanks for telling me about yours.

The 560 is OK, but if you can get the 570 you will be a lot happier.
For the price difference, its worth getting the 570.
Look at it like this, you buy the 560 you won't really be able to sell it for much because it really isn't great. But if you get the 570 then you will be a lot happier and wont have to sell it until a lot later on
