Hi guys, I'm building a pc and have a spare HD 7990 lying around. I didn't want to spend too much money on a cpu because I'm a little tight on the budget but would the FX 6300 be okay with the HD 7990? I'm a little worried about bottlenecking the cpu. If this cpu is not good, can you guys please recommend a better one in the same price range. I'm going to be play a lot of GTA V , guild wars 2 and some other similar games. Will this combination also give me good frames? Thanks in advance guys.

Solution
Yes, it will serve you well, it does 60fps on GTA V. You can also overclock it to 4ghz and furthermore DX12 will tap its full potential.

It will be better because it has a higher base clock and also more cores. It's good for rendering video (about on par with Sandy/Ivy i7s) and will prove even more useful with DX12.

Alright, thanks. Also, should I go for a mobo with pcie 2.0 or 3.0. I know the card is 3.0 but its hard to find a mobo that's not too expensive with 3.0. Will 2.0 be good enough?
