Is the Logitech C920 worth buying?

Hi there,

I'll be doing some streaming soon and I just want to know if the Logitech C920 is worth buying. If there's a cheaper alternative, then please recommend something for me. If it is worth buying, then I guess I'll buy it. Thanks in advance! ^^

Depends on what you plan to stream and how you plan to stream it.
The C920 is a 1080p webcam, so you can fill a screen with it.
If you plan to put yourself at the bottom left/right of the screen in a 200x200 pixel box that camera will be overkill.
If you plan to have your face (or whatever it it is you have your camera trained on) full-splash on the screen a good deal of the time it could definitely be worth it.

What's your internet upload speed like? Having a 1080p webcam isn't as useful if you have 1 Mbit/s upload speed.
Where/who is your target audience. If they are the people who watch (or can watch) in low/medium quality, you will have significant overkill with this.

In the lower price ranges the other logitechs tend to be recommended (although my requirements were 1080p, so I didn't look to deeply into that), there's apparantly something logitech is doing right in the webcam department.

Thanks for the reply! I'll most be streaming League of Legends, but I'll also be streaming games like: Borderlands, Bioshock, Final Fantasy 13 & 13-2, Child of Light, The Witcher 3, Fallout 3 & 4, Metro 2033, etc. Does what give you an idea what webcam I'll need? I probably won't be filling up my entire screen with my webcam. My screen resolution is 1920x1080p so I'll be downscaling it to 720p for streaming. I'll be having my webcam mostly in the corner of my screen, as well as another webcam size on my screen. (Two links attached to show what I mean) My internet upload speed is a little over 5mbps. It's like in between 5 and 6. I want my viewers to see a decent picture while I stream my games. If what you say is true, then the C920 is definitely overkill. I think I'll need something in 720p. I'll be using OBS and stream on Twitch for my viewers. What can you recommend? I'm thinking of getting either the Logitech C310 or the Logitech C615. What do you think?
