Is the new GTX 960 and upgrade to my 7870 XT?

Hey guys!

I currently own a 7870 XT (or GhZ edition the Tahiti chipset) and have so for quite a while. I'm happy with the performance but I'm wondering if I should finally do an upgrade and if the GTX 960 would actually BE an upgrade.

Since I have basically missed two generations of GPUs (if not more) I'm wondering if I'm missing out on something?

Get a R9 290,,,, that will be an amazing upgrade !

That would barely be an upgrade, not worth it imo.
Just overclock your current card, with a decent oc it will match a 960 easily.

Yeah you're probably right. I have mine at 1200 mHz with a third party cooler.

Going to wait for something bigger.

At 1200mhz on a 7870xt you are out performing a stock 7970, probably on par with a 7970ghz ed/280x.
