Hi everyone,

a friend of mine wants to assemble his new gaming desktop. It is his hobby.
He wants intel and prefers to have a CD. Yes, we are old :).
He will probably use one monitor.
The investment should be around 1500 Eu.

He came up with this setup- pcpartpicker link

Case: LC-Power 2010MB Mini Tower ohne Netzteil schwarz
GPU: 16GB ASRock Radeon RX 6800 Phantom Gaming DDR6 Retail
CPU: Intel Core i5-13600KF
CPU cooling unit: be quiet! Pure Rock Slim 2 CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte B660M DS3H So.1700 DDR4 ATX Retail
CD: LG Electronics Blu-ray/DVD±RW [SATA] BH16NS40 bare
Power supply: Corsair RMx Series (2021), 650W
Network card: Gigabyte GC-WBAX200 WLAN & Bluetooth 5.0 (PCIe x1)
Dard drive: Crucial P2 3D NAND NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD Up to 2400MB/s - CT1000P2SSD8
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3600 MHz C18 XMP 2.0

Here you can find links to the specific retailers we plan to buy from

I think that this setup looks good. Looking at the documentation and articles, the only thing I thought might be a problem is the electricity supply. According to some websites, the maximum voltage power draw should be about 555W.

What do you think of this setup as a general?
also, do you think he needs a stronger power supply?.

Have a great day :)

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

I'd look into a 750W or slightly higher reliably built unit. In fact the RMx in 750 or more will do your build fine. Just an FYI, you should look into a new chassis as well...something like the Fractal Pop series can replace the one you currently have and also up the cooling for your processor.

You're welcome, kind sir!

Indeed, I do;
regardless of which one you go for in the series(air or Silent), there's the 5.25" drive bay at the bottom of the case.

I would not pair DS3H motherboard with 13600 CPU. Besides the fact that it's VRMs are insufficient you can also run into wrong BIOS problem and this mobo does not have BIOS flashback feature. If you are into Gigabyte I would suggest at least B660M Gaming X model. Also you could potentially ditch network card for mobo with WiFi included - for Gigabyte look for motherboard with AX in name.

+ to 1 on the VRM but
this mobo does not have BIOS flashback feature.
1000

there's a QFLASH_PLUS button located near the last PCIe x1 slot
