Is the PSU the problem?

was curious if the rmi850i power supply is enough for this system. the system is not even 2 weeks old and its starting to randomly restart it self with no error displaying on start up. i have updated all the drivers and nothing is overclocked. temps are fine so don't think this is the issue. could there possibly be something wrong with my psu?

CPU: i7 6700k
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO
GPU: MSI R9 390
Cooler: CORSAIR H115i
Memory: Gskillz tridentz 3000mhz 15-15-15-35
PSU: Corsair RM850i
SSD : SAMSUNG 850 EVO 500GB
OS: WINDOWS 10 PRO 64-BIT

when the pc restarts event viewer give me this "The previous system shutdown at 10:55:24 PM on ?5/?11/?2016 was unexpected." Event ID 6008

Also on a side note event viewer is also getting this error every 30 seconds:
Source: Security-SPP
"Failed to schedule Software Protection service for re-start at 2116-04-18T05:34:01Z. Error Code: 0x80070005."

It could be your CPU, I would try to do a stress test on it using AIDA64 and leave it on for a few hours. Double check all your wires, and why such a big PSU?

ill try and run the stress test. i went with the 850 because im planning to do a crossfire set up in the future.

so i ran AIDA64 and after 25mins my computer restarted.... temps on cpu were anywhere from 45 - 58 degrees Celsius. does this mean i have a defective cpu? or is there a way to fix this?


update:
my motherboard had a bios update which i installed and now running aida64 again it has been an hour with no system restart. could this have been the problem? or should i run AIDA64 for longer?

It could be, but I would try to see if there is anything wrong with the pins on the CPU. If you bought it from newegg, they do part exchange within 30 days of purchase so I would contact them.

so i thought it was all good but while i was watching tv and my computer was just idle on the desktop it restarted itself. I will check the cpu but could the motherboard also be the problem? i noticed that even when the pc is off all the lights on the motherboard remain on. not sure if this is normal for this motherboard i just thought it was a bit strange. also do you know if intel will replace the cpu or should i bring it to the store that i purchased it from?

wouldn't the problem be happening since day 1 if it was the cpu or motherboard?

this is what my event viewer is saying everytime the computer restarts. would the constant security-spp be an issue?
