[SOLVED] Is there a graphics card I can afford to play a particular game through Oculus Link?

I don't think I have enough money to get a graphics card.

I see people playing American Truck Simulator on their Oculus Quest through Oculus Link with a steering wheel and pedals. I'd like to do that too, but I only have integrated graphics from my CPU. Is there a GPU (new, used, or refurbished) around $150-$250 that will work well for me? I don't require very high graphic settings. I'm used to playing games on the lowest settings.

There's an Oculus Link compatibility page, but I can't seem to find a graphics card I can afford from their list.

Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VII Hero
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz, 4001 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
Power Supply: 550w Corsair CX 750 M (750w)
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

I'm going to continue looking. If I find something, I'll post it here in case it helps someone else.

Thanks for any help, or advice.

That's not going to happen, not with the way things are in the world at this moment of time.

The price of GPU's is high, regardless of what condition your going to buy it in. I'd also advise against buying a used GPU given how a GPU used for mining is as good as a paper weight.

Make and model of your 550W PSU in the build? Is it as old as the processor in your system?

Thank you. :)

I will avoid used then. I opened up my case, and my power supply is actually 750w. It's a Corsair CX 750 M, and it is as old as the processor.

I found this refurbished for $250, but I don't know if 4GB is enough because most of the listed graphics cards are 6GB+: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G

I was going to get the Logitech G920 Driving Force Racing Wheel and Floor Pedals for $215 (new, open box), but maybe instead I should look for a used steering wheel and pedals to have more money for a graphics card.

The lowest you can go within your budget is a used GTX 970. Go to ebay and try your luck if you must.

Thanks. I see GTX 970's with 4 GB, is that too low?

EDIT: I spoke to Oculus support, and they said this: "Upon checking, it is supported. However, just to give you a heads up that the performance will not be as good as the newer GPU."

4GB should be enough for what you want to play... and of course a newer GPU would yield better performance than a 7 year old one.
