[SOLVED] Is there a need to upgrade some stuff?

So i have a couple hundred dollars to spend and thinking on upgrading my pc, but not a lot, maybe some cheap stuff.

here are my specs:


Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2x4GB 2400 ( even though in task manager it says 2133Mhz? )
Nvidia Geforce 1050ti
HDD blue 1tb
kingston SSD 256 GB ( or something like this
Intel i3-8350k
MSI Z370M Gaming Pro AC
seasonic gold focus plus 650

i dont think im missing anything...?

something else is that most are new, only around 1 year or + old ( thats when i bought and built the pc, idk if some parts were used )

Ok well first of all go into the BIOS and enable XMP memory profile to get your RAM up to the right speed. As for upgrades your easiest bet would be moving to an I5 series processor. I would do that before going for a new GPU but that is the next step after a new CPU.

You can likely handle a majority of games on low to medium settings but moving to a new CPU and GPU could easily get you up to high settigns

also, thanks! I was looked into my ram and realized my ram is 3000Mhz and its been on 2133Mhz the whole time! I watched a video and I also changed the frequency on the BIOS to the correct thing and volts.

I dont really know what all of this will affect but i think its good



Edit: I manually changed my MHz on bios and i didnt enable XMP memory profile. Does it really change any thing?

That CPU is still holding up well in a single thread with games IMHO.
I would update the GPU if you can with an AMD RX 580/590 or a GTX 1660.
And maybe 8 GB more of ram

GPU first i'd say, GTX 1660 or the newly launched RX 5500 are good options.
