i've realized that you can create text using the IME with
software that supports it (like Word) and then copy it to
the message window. that way you can efectively send a
message with, say, japanese characters that the receiver
can read, provided they have japanese language support.

i've been trying to find a way to send japanese instant
messages with messenger, but my efforts have so far proven
futile. is there a way to use the Global-IME from inside
messenger, to type japanese text directly into the message
box? or do i have to continue copy-pasting from word?

i have a friend that solved the problem ina similar
fashion, yet i haven't been able to do it myself.
basically, i think this is because i am using the spanish
language version on win 98 (¬¬), which only has
multilanguage support for certain languages, none of which
is japanese. according to an article i found about this, i
can only use the IME if i'm a win98 user, yet japanese
win98 users must have a way of sending instant messages
between themselves, and the software that allos them to do
so if there is such a thing - must be online somewhere.
