Here's the thing, i am about to start my first build, I've decided in a FX 8320e processor wich i am pairing with a GA-970A-DS3P Rev 2.0 motherboard. I already bought the parts and got my motherboard today (Case and processor should arrive on monday).

So i was checking my motherboard's CPU support list, and it says it supports the FX 8320e since Bios version F2j, so i don't know what BIOS version my MoBo has...And i am guessing that if it has an older Bios won't even boot with my FX 8320e so i won't be able to update the Bios...

So is there a way to know what Bios version comes installed on my new motherboard without installing it? i've been checking the box and user manual and haven't found anything.

Your reading the 1.0...
Generally the latest Rev has the latest bios. I would still put it together and get it on to see. If not look at the serial and see if there are dates for batches that come out.

Your reading the 1.0 board not the revision 2.0 the 2.0 it's different and supports all of them with the first FA BIOS.

Check your board to make sure you have the right revision it will be printed on the lower left side (right on the edge) of the board on GB. It will say Rev 2.0 if so your good to go.

So what i understand this board isn't good for overclocking... i wasn't thinking in overclocking my cpu, well, maybe a little to know what is that about (the only overclocking i've done before is with my GPU R9 270 using Radeon Settings, so just moving the sliders around...) but i supouse that if i don't do any serious overclocking it should be fine right?

He is using the 95 Watt processor so no problems. Although I would not raise the voltage.

WOW!! thanks! didn't notice i was reading the wrong support list! thank you!! i now can just wait for the parts to get here so i can start my build! Thank you again for noticing this!
