agreed, that is true. it really depends on the question.

if the question is related and on topic it makes sense to keep it in thread. if its unrelated then a new topic is best.

for example... if you have a thread about headphones and get some recommendations then have a new pair you're interested in.. keep it in the same thread. if you're building a system then have a completely unrelated question about windows you will best put that in a new thread.

Any member who has enough best answers can do this for you, I just did. I'm not sure the exact reason the op can't unselect best answer, it is their discussion, but I guess it's to stop new members from running a muck in the forum 🙂
