I'm looking for upgrade suggestions. I bought the Acer Nitro XV273K 4k 120hz in 2019 for $700. I am struggling to find a worthwhile upgrade that would cost me less than $800. I'm willing to compromise on 4k down to 1440p if the overall experience is worth while. I could spend up to $600-$800, but was hoping for a nice $500 option by now.

This LG would be larger, and slightly faster. Doesn't seem worth the cost to me.

I'd love an OLED (I have a 55' OLED TV, just 60hz), but the price seems prohibitive.

Specs:

Acer Nitro XV273K 4k 120hz
RTX 4070 TI
i9 9900k (upgrading to Ryzen 7000 in the next year or so)
32gb DDR4 3600mhz
2TB M.2 SSD

I play Overwatch, BF1, BF4, BF5, Halo Infinite. Lots of multiplayer, but I'm not exactly a hyper competitive player. Definitely will play Starfield when it comes out.

I just can't believe that 4.5 years later that is nothing worth upgrading to for less than $1000.

Pricings for better periphs have skied in the last 5 years lol. But a 4K 120Hz display don't come cheap now especially with Gsync or FreeSync. I'd say keep that display or whatnot and save your money cuz if anything I could go for an Acer Nitro XV273K 4k 120hz right about now. But ummmmmmm..........................TV wise I'm partnered with ROG and could recommend this for you it's within the budget but not $500 sweetspot. https://rog.asus.com/us/monitors/above-34-inches/rog-strix-xg438q-model . . . hope it's good enough . . . otherwise I'd say this which is kinda small but may be EyeCandy to you . . . https://rog.asus.com/us/monitors/23-to-24-5-inches/rog-swift-360hz-pg259qnr-model/ . . . have fun LOL............................................

In my own opinion, the cost of gaming at 4K is already prohibitive enough considering the hardware it takes to do so at a high refresh rate. According to how far across the room you are from the TV, you may well not be realizing it anyway. My LR TV is being used with a gaming PC but I often find that temps for the PC placement as related to resolution/framerate is so high on 4K that 1080 is a better option for an even higher framerate without cooking the cabinet.

It is fair to admit that at my age, my eyesight isn't what it used to be either, so aside from the size of Riva metrics I probably wouldn't be able to tell one from the other anyway in most cases. The only game I can specifically tell right off the bat is CB77 because the colors really pop at 4K....it also tanks performance.

Try the 2nd hand market. I snagged an Odessey G7 43" mini led display for 550 quid. the going price is 800 to 850 quid.

OLED seems better, my G7 has 360 dimming zones and cuz its 43" its maybe not that impressive?

I am still waiting to build my new PC and right now its connected to my Strix laptop with a 3050ti. So only HDMI 2.0b and no HDR, so i am not getting the full experience.

i have this model: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Bc...430-3840-x-2160-144-hz-monitor-ls43cg702nnxza

If you do not have any problem with your monitor, I think it is not something that you should replace.

If you are looking for a worthy upgrade, it is not your monitor or GPU now, but it is your CPU, so your mainboard, so probably your RAM.

About OLED, I think we still need to wait some time for the technology to develop further.
