So before I continue I want to say I worry alot especially when it comes to building new PCs. I've done multiple builds yet every time I tend to OCD on something on each build. Anyway I encountered some freezing during the setup process.

I am using a MSI B550i Gaming Edge, 3600, and rtx 3070.

First freeze was the first bootup. I got into the bios fine. Was able to move around it but the mouse was a bit slow. Thought it was because I was using a wireless mouse. Anyway I leave my computer for an hour or 2 and when I come back I am not able to move the mouse or keyboard. No response. I figured it just happens.

Then I proceed to install windows 10. Worked flawlessly during install. When I got to windows I started to install drivers. One i got to the gpu drivers it went down hill. After installed it said successful but screen kept going black every 3 seconds. very annoying. Was getting concerned. Decided to reinstall windows.

Second freeze happened after installing windows. I get to the screen where it asks me to pick my time zone. I get up for a bite to eat and when i come back frozen. This is where I got really stressed. I did it again and reinstalled windows and didn't get up. Just powered threw it. Installed gpu drivers and happened again black screen. That was a easy fix. Apparently my nzxt h1 case riser cable is 3.0 and needed to change that in the bios.

Ever since then my computer has been working flawlessly. No crashes. No freezes. Only thing was i couldn't wake my pc this morning with my keyboard or mouse. Needed to press the power button to wake it.

My concern is that those two freezes are an indication that something is wrong with my mobo. Like its gonna fail on me or something. I mean do these things happen and everything is fine? Was it just a coincidence those freezes happened to the set up process? Thanks and sorry for the rant. The power of OCD gets to the best of me.

Solution
After installing Windows, did you allowed all Windows update to be installed before you started installing drivers?
Check that your BIOS has USB waking enabled.

Also some settings in Windows might be preventing the PC from been awaken.
Go to your 'Power Options' in Control Panel.
To the right of your selected power type, click 'change plan settings'.
Then click 'Change advanced power settings'.
Scroll until you see 'USB Settings'.
Then click the + sign until you see a box with 'Setting' = Enabled. Disable it.

Also under Device Manager
Click on + Mouse & pointing devices.
Highlight HID compliant mouse then go to top and click on Properties.
Power management tab and check 'Allow this device to wake up the computer.'
Click OK.

Thanks that fixed it. And yes I installed updates first. I was just concerned by the freeze before installing windows in the bios and the freeze during the windows set up install. Other than that its been working flawlessly. Maybe the bios is buggy? Maybe needs a update but doesn't explain why it froze during the windows install the first time around. Hopefully it was just a rare coincidence

Don't worry about those micro freezes if it is only happens during Windows setup...very common.
During Windows setup and until Windows finalizes drivers installation, some hardware, like mouse and keyboard might appear unresponsive at times. That could happen, even when input is required to continue setup.
I have encountered that issue countless times. A couple of times my wireless mouse was not even working during setup and I had to go by with the keyboard.
In another instance, I had to connect a wired keyboard since Windows setup wouldn't see a wireless keyboard and mouse combo.
