Is this a good first time build PC?

Hey guys, this is my first post so sorry if anything is wrong! But i've always been a console gamer but now I want to get into PC. This build (with case, mouse/keyboard, and all) is around $800 which is at the very top of my price range. I don't need a monitor or OS as I already have one.

CPU: i5 4590 Haswell Quad-Core 3.3GHz -$200
GPU: MSI GTX 760 -$225
MOBO: MSI ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboards Z97-G55 SLI -$125
RAM: Crucial Ballistix (2x4gb) 1600 -$75
HDD: Seagate 1TB 7200 RPM -$55
PSU: Corsair Builder 600W -$60

Total: $740 (w/o taxes, shipping, case, mouse/keyboard, etc.)

I don't expect 1080p with 60 frames on every game, or to be able to run ultra settings. I want something that could do high settings with a good FPS. I play games like Battlefield 3 & 4, GTA, Skyrim, and any upcoming game in the future that I would want to play. So, is this a good build?

Like I said, i'm on a tight budget, so any upgrades over $50 probably won't happen. Also this is my first build ever. And these prices came from Newegg and Amazon, whichever was cheaper at the time. If you know where I could get any of these for cheaper, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Solution
The motherboard is way overkill. You have a locked CPU so you should be using an h97 motherboard.

For the PSU, change it to a quality unit from Antec, XFX, Seasonic.

Get a motherboard thats only about 60 bucks then with the money saved get a i5-4670k + Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. Also cut the PSu down to 500w and then invest in a few case fans. and as an $50 upgrade, go for an AMD r9 280x as a gpu, that card is equivalent to an GTX 770 whatever the variation at a cheaper price point. Even a r9 280 (non x edition) would beat a 760.

This is bad advice. If you buy a 4670k(should be 4690k anyway) and a $60 motherboard you won;t be able to overclock anyway. OP, stick with the CPU you have but change to an h97 motherboard.

Thanks for the reply! What is a good motherboard that you suggest that's within the same price range of course?

So downgrade the motherboard and upgrade the GPU? I do have one question, how do you feel about AMD GPU's? I have friends who already game on PC and they tell me to stay away from them. But are you referring to the 280x or just 280?
