Is this a good g sync monitor?

Solution
Samsung C24FG70, 1080p, 24" curved, no gsync, $280, true 8 bit va monitor, much darker blacks because it's va and good color accuracy and gamut, you won't find a better looking monitor in your price range that's 144hz+
Dell S2417DG, 1440p, 24" with gsync mentioned earlier $380
AOC AG271QX, 1440p, 27" no gsync, $400
Dell S2716DGR 1440p, 27" with gsync, $450
depending on what you do or play, a 180hz screen may not be necessary. once you pass the 60fps (frames per second) the difference is minimal and maybe there is no difference depending on how fast your eyes work. i suspect you'll be gaming or video editing and in which case you'll need a beefy gpu, i personally have a gtx 1080 and that surpasses my gaming needs however i only have a 60hz display (1080p) and you want to use a display that does triple that. i would sugest you go for a slightly lower refresh rate for better display like 1440p as was suggested before because although the difference is minimal, it should help your eyes focus on the screen too.

I have a 1080 too and I'm mostly gaming and sometimes photo editing do you think I should get that dell?

144hz over 60hz is easily noticeable. I haven't heard anyone who's actually seen it to say otherwise. Old or young, gamer or not, slow or extra slow. There's just too many misconceptions with people thinking higher fps does nothing because they are still using a 60hz monitor.

yes but would you agree that 180hz is a little over the top? a gamer would need a powerful computer to make the best of it too
i suppose it does take a bit of time for our eyes to adjust to the higher frame rate and everyone's different when it comes to their eyes. also is 60hz and 180hz gonna improve your gaming performance much?

for the AOC AG241QG Agon 24" Gaming Monitor compared to the asus ROG swift
- has MUCH more contrast ratio
- has shadow control (to adjust how dark you want dark areas to be without adjusting other colours)
- has higher resolution
- has 2 more 3.0 usbs
cons
- slightly lower refresh rate (-15hz)
the same
- both have g sync
- both have same screen size
- both have same viewing angle
- both have same response time
the AOC AG241QG Agon appears to be better than the asus ROG although you might want a experts opinion

Sure going above 144hz is not noticeable but the price of monitors aren't more. It doesn't have to be about improving your gaming performance if you aren't a hardcore player. It looks a lot smoother. It doesn't take any time at all to adjust to fps changes. You immediately see it's smoother.

The aoc is $100 more than the dell for the same thing. Contrast ratio is the same for all 3. You don't look at dynamic as that's just marketing. The anti glare coating on the aoc is also more aggressive, making colors less vibrant. Shadow control is just gamma adjusting which every monitor has. That's not worth it at all. If you wanted to spend $100 more, you go up to a 27".

So I'm better off just getting the dell?

I want 144hz I play games like Rust and pubg
I have a gtx 1080 8gb and a i7 6700k 4.0ghz
