I would like to know if these specs can be good for a gaming pc. I am really new at this and i want to build a good gaming pc that is preferably better than the ps4 specs and will last me a few years without upgrading anything. Also, the link is here:

I am grateful for any additional info you guys could provide, for ex, how much will a pc cost minimally that will beat the ps4 or xbox720 specs and last about 1-3 years more with any new games on at least medium-high settings.

Solution
Hey, you could always start. 2 months ago, I didn't know a thing about computers. Now I'm a forum regular here. Buying my own build in 3 weeks, so I had to tweak to perfectness. Anyway, here's the final build, nothing changed.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($134.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Patriot Gamer 2 Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($47.98 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Samsung...

He's got the R9 290x listed as a custom.

Spy, don't buy that AMD card just yet, nVidia are dropping the price of the GTX 780 "from $649 to $499" - Hexus it might be worth looking at.

As for the desk I highly recommend the Ikea Malm http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/80214182/.

Yeah. I already took a look at the MALM, and that was what i decided on before i took the chance for the third monitor. I hope it works out and i get the monitor.

I'll take a look at the GALANTs too but i'm leaning towards the one FREDDE because it seems like its built for eyefinity. Though it seems quite thin for a keyboard and mouse too.

As for the 780, i might get it if its cheaper. As you know, eyefinity is much more praised and recommended than surround, and with AMD's new drivers for the 290, that cater specfically to trimonitor eyefinity, i'm leaning towards that at the moment, though its very likely that i'll change my decision if i don't get the monitor or if the 290's the same price as the 780, which i doubt would be the case. Anyways, i'll also have to factor in Arkham CIty, ACIV, and SC Blacklist vs Farcry 3, SR4, and Deus Ex. I dont even know if the nVidia bundle is available in Canada.

Something to think about is that the 780TI is going to come out soon and it will probably be comparable in price and performance to the 290X, bringing price drops down the whole 700 series line. Plus don't go for the 290 with stock cooling if you enjoy a quiet pc seeing as they have been reported to sound like a small jet engine.. Not trying to be mean im just pointing out things you may wanna look into.

Well, leaked benchmarks show that the R9-290 trades blows with the GTX 780, and about half the time is actually better.

With a 7970 GHz as 100% baseline they showed the R9-290 was 121% performance and the GTX 780 was 118% performance across about 10-15 different games/applications.

Price drop was announced on the GTX 780, it will become $499 for less performance than AMD's $449 R9-290. GTX 780Ti pricing has been announced, it will be $700 (and less performance than the Titan, still...so pay more for less with NVidia cards).

I would worried getting the board to POST before your return time to the retailers expires. this is electronics is not perfect. the only part i dont like about AMD FX CPU they don't have integrated graphics so you could do a quick POST test.

Just pull the trigger. Not worth waiting a few weeks everytime there's a new rumor. A few weeks later, something will else will come up. There is very little difference between these high end cards, because the higher you go, the less price/performance you're getting. It's not like its going to make the difference between running a game on high or ultra.

Actually the numbers are out:

R9-290X - 5.6 TFLOPS @ max boost clock ($549)
R9-290 - 5.1 TFLOPS @ max boost clock ($449)
GTX 780Ti - 4.7 TFLOPS @ max turbo clock ($699)
GTX 780 - 4.5 TFLOPS @ max turbo clock ($499)

I think it's safe to say the R9-290 is a tremendous value, even in a reference configuration.

Well, from some benchmarks, and AMD's new drivers for the cards, it seems 290=290X Quiet. I wonder if that changes the price of the card... especially since the NDA date is pushed back by a week, but i suspect nVidia for that.

Well, I don't think it will change the price much if any. Worst case it launches @ $499. Even then I think AMD would rather be $50 cheaper than a 780 with better performance. That makes NVidia have to sell that massive GK110 GPU for $399 to sell it relative to performance...(which they won't do because the margins would be horrible for them).

Here 770 did drop price 370-> 310. 780 is now 430 + 3 games free.
Just wondering how much it will drop when new 780Ti is coming out.
It is good because price is going down. It is time to buy :)
But what card?!? 😀 R9 290 X seems like good. But.. but but 😀

Im wondering how 3 monitors work if two is 1080p and one is 2560 1440.

This gives 580. Now.
