I don't think 500W is enough for an r9 380, actually not at all, It's safe to get 550 or 600 Watt but change that coolmax thing, it has bad reviews. Go for good quality GPUs like SEASONIC and EVGA, seasonic mostly
No, the one he linked is a very low quality power supply. The ones I linked are "meh" quality, but with plenty of additional wattage to make it work just fine
@Jeremy, I saw your build's price, but what is your budget? I need an answer to that in order to answer your question. Also, can you name a few of the games that you're hoping to play and at what level you're hoping to play them? For example, Fallout 4 @ ultra settings @ 60 FPS.
^that seasonic psu is tier 2, good quality, but its also $$25 more than the tier 3 that i linked, for a build like that a tier 3 unit is perfectly fine
-better psu
- cheaper case but just as decent
-cpu cooler so u won't hear that helicopter
- case fans with led looks cooler and your fans are not that quiet believe me.
- no fan controller u can download a program for that.
and at op your original build was indeed really bad.
