mobile xp2500 barton @ 2125
512 pc2700
WD120 gig
radion 9800 pro (at stock speed)

on 3D mark 03 I got 5439 marks
i was just wondering if this was an acceptable score?

Its certainly aceptable. But you should be able to get a fair bit higher. Look at my specs and my score, and I havn't overclocked anything. However the first time I did the test when I bought my new Video card I only got 4800+.

That's a really good 9800Pro stock score. You cant use any nVidia card as a comparison because they fcking cheat like hell in this benchmark.

I use Rage 3d Tweak. OC your barton some more too, that OC is pathetic. What kind of cooling do you have for it?

Do some more OCing and flash the BIOS though, and you could be one of the lucky few (like me) to break 7k! (Till the new cards come out, then 7k will suck! Damnit!)

Good score for a stock 9800 Pro or an unlocked 9800 SE. Overclocking the card a little bit will basically get ya around 6K which is excellent. Make sure you got a pretty cool computer though, if not plan on getting some more air to it if you want high overclocking ability!

Yup, nice score. Glad to see the mobile barton working on the VAXP. Could you set the multiplier in the bios or only by jumper on that mobo? I have been meaning to try that myself on mine but haven't had a free desk lately since building the mobile NF2 system. So until I finish farcry, I won't disconnect the NF2 box.


Here are my best scores with a mobile XP2500+ on an NF2 and R9800Pro. First one is an OC'ed R9800 Pro, second is stock speed 9800Pro. Both at 2.6GHz for the MXP.

I think I could get 6500 if I OC the radeon to it's artifact free limit which is 5MHz higher core and mem, and also swap in my corsair LL ram for this hyperX. But 7K is no way possible for me unless I could find a driver to give me 500points. :tongue:

I would also like to see orb links for that 7K score although I sure don't doubt it, links are more useful for comparison.

My 9800 Pro was at 460/380, flashed to XT, for 7k. Cat 4.3, no bullsh*t IQ degrading stuff. Performance set to "performance" in the ATI control panel. Closed all unnecessary running apps.

I have an illegally registered 3dmark 03 pro copy, and therefore cannot upload. I will delete the registry crap to unregister it basically, run again, and upload, SOMETIME.

anyone here know how to raise the GPU limit in Rage3D to over 510Mhz?

Only 9600XT owners need to do such things, when I had a 9600XT, I used Radclocker.

hi to all thanks for your replies.
im using a vantec aitflow2 on my cpu and im getting some pc3200 today and then i will push the cpu further.
i got 3dtweak and iv had a problem since i installed it my monitor wont go above 1280/1024 so iv uninsalled it and no difference. any ideas?
