Is this a high range system for gaming\vidoe editing? £1000

Hi all,

just needed some help with this system was going to go for the new X99 & Haswell E range but apparently this processor is still better. is is worth it? and will it last some years before i have to upgrade?

Probably more for gaming but i do very much enjoy video editing. No 3d animation just good old video.

Look forward to your suggestions.

I currently have a xeon x something, i currently can run any game. But i would say the Xeon E3-1231 V3 3.4GHz is out performed by the i7 4790k significantly
