Is this accurate? 533fsb 1mb Prescott support?

I just bought a P4 3.06ghz 533fsb to go with a Biostar mobo. The thing is,
the mobo says (in some places) it supports the Prescott (1mb cache) but I
don't know of any 533fsb p4 with 1mb cache on it. Am I wrong? I thought
Prescott's were 800 only. Does this mean i can stick an 800fsb chip on this
533 mobo and realize the advantages of the 1mb cache? I'm so confused.

It's the Biostar u8668D mobo with VIA P4M533 (formerly P4M266A) / VT8235,
details can be seen at
http://www.futurepowerpc.com/scripts/details.asp?PRDCODE=MBBI-P4U8668DV7&REFID=PW

and I quote:
"Biostar U8668D V7.5 (Socket-m478 / VIA P4M266E /Support Prescott CPU)
Supports Prescott CPU 533FSB, 1MB Cache"

Thanks.

Taking reviewers' quotes as gospel isn't always the best way to make sure.
The Biostar website states Prescott is supported from version 7.5 upwards.
From the looks of it, you'll need a BIOS update for it to be recognized:

Cuzman, thanks for the reply... i saw these pages and wasn't sure of the
real deal exactly. The mobo i bought is a v7.5 version but I played it safe
with the cpu and got the non-Prescott.

Would I gain much from the added 1mb cache if I pop a Prescott on there?
I'll be doing alot of 3d rendering and After Effects 2d projects, it's the
sole purpose of this system. thanks

Intel makes a P4 2.8 GHz CPU that is a Prescott and runs at 533 MHz
internally and does have 1 MB of L2 cache. It's the ONLY 533 MHz Prescott.

Thanks for that... now that makes sense with this mobo. So just to make
sure. the 800fsb chip would NOT work on the 533fsb motherboard. correct?
thanks again.

The 1MB cache is no "benefit" to enjoy, since the Prescott is so
inefficient. But I would expect you to see a good boost from the
Hyperthreading feature, if your app and OS supports it.

However, me thinks there's a 3.06 fsb533 Northwood P4 with
hyperthreading, available as well?

The Pentium 4C Northwood (130 nm) 3.2 GHz
looks to be best buy just now.
