Is this build decent for most games?

Hey tomshardware, I currently have a PC containing a 750ti graphics card and an AMD FX 6300 CPU. My motherboard doesn't support Intel CPUs, so I pretty much need an upgrade to run main titles in high frames. I also want to consider VR as well, so I'll definately need an upgrade. Here's my build.

I am quite inexperienced in compatibility, so I need some help.
1-Is my PSU sufficient enough to run all of my components and will it be sufficient enough if I upgrade to say - a GTX 1080?

2-Are all these parts compatible?

3-Am I blowing any unecessary money on parts?

4-Will these parts be able to run recent titles and VR games?

PS: I already have a 250gb SSD and a 500GB HDD along with a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo.

Thanks for any replies :)

Compatible yes but you have a CPU designed for overclocking but a motherboard that isn't, you need a Z270 board. Also since Ryzen released Id pick that over any i5, 4 threads just looks dated now in my opinion.
