Is this card low profile?

Okay here's the deal, coming up to my Birthday and I plan to upgrade a few components of my PC over the next year or so. Till then I'd like a card that gets me by for that year so I figured the best one would be a 7750 1GB DDR5 model from what I've seen the PowerColor model is great for me.

So I found one on eBay I sent the company a message (box.co.uk) asking whether it was low profile but I searched online at images and videos and I couldn't see a hint of a high profile version so I bought it anyway. They messaged back this morning saying it's been sent off and it's not a low profile card.

Unfortunately this unit is not a low profile unit.

My PSU is a 350w but it's a decent one, it barely ever reaches it's max and I have a 6670 at the moment. So I'm wondering if I've just bought a high profile card and need to upgrade my PSU or am I okay and they don't know a thing? I just thought high profile cards have a 6pin adapter.

7750 isn't a high profile card.

high profile means that its a larger card and fits in a larger case.. low profile cards are for small cases thats all it really means..

it also says on the link 400w minimum recommended so .. you do the math lol

That's pretty much what I thought, being a company that sells computer components and all I got a little worried though. Glad to know I'm all good, thanks guys.

Well, i suppose the best you can do is search the aperage required for the card to work and the actual 12+V rail amperage of your PSU. That simple.

The 7750 actually draws less power than the 6670 you already have. It pulls 43W at load, the 6670 pulls 61W. (source) which means it will at max draw need a little less than 4A from your +12V rail. The 400W that AMD lists as a minimum is purely CYA.

So it should be fine to just plug in? Does the lesser power consumption mean it's a lower card than the 6670 then?

The 7750 is far better than the 6670. Read the review I linked and see the game benchmarks. Newer architecture, less power draw.

Yes, you can just plug it in and go in your current setup.
