It looks like time to upgrade soon I had this card since 2009 or 2008 and here is the card link I have now
http://www3.pny.com/font-color9999999600-GSO-768MB-PCI-e-OCfont-P2681C396.aspx
Here is the card I would like to buy if its good enough

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-512-P3-N871-AR-GeForce-9800GTX-Graphics/dp/B0016BL5M4

Will the lower in ram not make me put a little higher texture in gta iv? The reason I wanna upgrade is because mods make me have texture bugs in gta iv and I am thinking it is because of my card. GTA IV runs current on my 9600.

Texture quality: High
Reflection resolution: High
Water Quality: Very High
Shadow Quality: High
Night Shadows: Off
Texture Filter Quality: AnisoTropic 4x
View Distance: 51
Detail Distance: 100
Vehicle Density: 100
Definition: On
V-Sync: On

at 20-25 fps on a 1920x1080 resolution without mods unsure with mods as i never checked and don't feel like it.

It might be slightly better but you won't notice enough difference to matter. You would be much better off to get a newer technology card such as the Radeon HD 6670, Radeon HD 7750, or GTX 650. Since your old card already has a 6 pin PCIe power connector you could also get a Radeon HD 7770, Radeon HD 7850, GTX 650 ti or GTX 660.

I just need slightly better not alot better as I only play is GTA IV and COD MW maybe I will buy 1 game for my pc soon but not a high intensive game as I use my ps3 for gaming so what is the difference between 768MB and the 9800 512MB, does that mean I can't put higher stats on the game if i buy the 9800 and is it better than my 9600 GSO verto?

I'm heavily advising you to not buy 5+ year old used hardware. Buy a new 6670, it's tons better AND is the same price range. It also has that new product warranty, and you can return it if you don't like it initially. You can't warranty out a 9800GTX, so if it dies on you you're toast.

It's also not a 7750 or 650ti or whatever these guys are suggesting but it's about 25% better than the 9800 you linked in the OP. It also doesn't require power connectors from the PSU like the 9800GTX would.

Look at this. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html

According to that the 9800 GTX is four tiers above the 9600 GSO Verto so yes it will be a substantial upgrade for you. The amount of memory on the card won't make much difference for what you are doing with it. However, the Radeon HD 7750 and the GTX 650 are both one tier above that so it's an even more noticable upgrade for a similar price. If you can afford the extra $25, get the newer card.
