We're not looking at the same coolers. You're looking at the TUF series.Eh, you can get one for about 100 bucks on Amazon,
Just which CPU are you going to OC, that's most important part but you left it out ???I'm looking at buying an ROG STRIX LC 240 but I cant find any reviews anywhere
Would this be good enough for some competitive overclocking? (Mild to heavy overclocks)
Thanks for the help!
For overclocking? No. You would not want to use this for anything other than basic stock configurations on six core or smaller CPUs.

For any 8 core or higher CPU for stock operations or ANY kind of 6 core or higher overclocking, you would want something more capable and preferably something in a 280 or 360mm flavor.
Wow. The pricing on those coolers is still jacked!
It's the same old Asetek cooler underneath the flashy ROG stuff.

Its just not same overclocking some low powered 4 core or beasts with 12/16 cores and not same if Intel or AMD.
In 240 range Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 is a performance king with very nice prices, anything ROG is overpriced for what they give. In one example that Arctic keeps my 3700x OC-ed to 4.4GHz under 75c.
What? No.But if you want to play, you gotta pay.
I paid $129 for this cooler and my CPU barley hits 40°C, i9-10900K. SO you play how you want but a quality cooler is worth the $$.What? No.
There are high performing coolers out there without 'shelling out a organ' for it... you just leave aesthetics off the table.
Want that too, even if it performs a little less? Yeah, you're gonna pay a hefty sum for it.

List me a better one and how much?
EDIT: Especially since the one he was looking at is $115.
EDIT EDIT: It looks like they are about $150 right now. Still worth the investment.
Doing what? There's some info missing.... my CPU barley hits 40°C, i9-10900K.
I agree with this, to an extent.... a quality cooler is worth the $$.
That's not what this is about.List me a better one and how much?
Asus' ROG fluff hasn't been worth it for years. It looks like they are about $150 right now. Still worth the investment.
The iCUE H150i is a 360 cooler.Doing what? There's some info missing.

A 240mm hybrid at a 150USD+ and it's not wiping the floor with other, more affordable 240mm units - like their own TUF, no less? Might as well get a good 280/360 for that price.
^That's what this is about.
There are good coolers that are expensive. There are BAD coolers that are expensive. My Corsair iCUE H150i CW-9060048-WW works fantastic. But $$
But if you want to play, you gotta pay.
It also seriously underperforms compared to many other 360mm models. It is STILL a good choice, because while it MIGHT not perform AS good as some other models, it probably might LAST longer than some of those models in the long run. So in some cases the answer to which is better might completely rely on whether better performance now, or lasting longer, is the higher priority. The iCUE H150i is a 360 cooler.

AND, not only does it outperform that cooler, but it also outperforms the H150i Pro as well. And it does it with just slightly lower noise levels as well.

As a matter of fact, the majority of good 280mm coolers out there will outperform the H150i Pro and the H150i Cappelix, which is somewhat better, is even more expensive than the RGB XT at around 170 bucks.
Even so, like I said before, I believe the H150i is the better quality product and will last longer before there is a failure of some kind.
I do however think that the Liquid Freezer II 280mm and 360mm are the best performance for the price. Consider, even the 280mm model outperforms the NZXT Kraken X72 360mm cooler, which itself outperforms the H150i Pro, XT and Cappelix from the reviews that I've seen, and is only 114.00.

The 360mm version is only 134.00, which is still cheaper than any of the H150i models.
