[SOLVED] Is this CPU dead?

I have a new build for a week or so, Ryzen 5 2400G and Asrock B450M-HDV. Few days ago I started overclocking, two days after overclock the pc started crashing. Yesterfay i was trying to lower the Mhz off the iGPU and higher the voltage. After every try i played a game. And temperatures was 80-90. Peak was 98. Today I try to start the PC and the monitor is not showing anything, the case restart and start buttons aren’t working when PC is on, I turnes off the PSU and started the PC again and it booted for 2 seconds and then restart for like 4 times. After another try it’s sounds like it’s booting, but no view on the screen. Is it dead?

Did you reset CMOS/BIOS ?

Take the CMOS Battery off for 5-10 minutes after discharging your pc(turning it off and unplugging the power cable) and it should work. If it doesn't try a different cpu from a friend or take it to a technisian. What cooler did you use with it? A 98°C peak is something you should worry about. Sounds like you went crazy with crappy cooler. Try resetting the CMOS tho.

Reset CMOS without release Jumper. Google It. Second, do the overclock with Ryzen Master, it's very effective. Sometimes the main problem PC strating crash is because of the memory.

I suggest you to do this step.
1. Reset CMOS
2. Remove Overclock's Profile on BIOS, If it's works don't OC through the BIOS.
3. Download Ryzen Master. and Google "How to OC Ryzen APU".

I Believe it must be over voltage on CPU and didn't control Dram Voltage.

I used a stock APU cooler. And I overclocked it not on the BIOS, but on the Ryzen Master.
I tried moving the CMOS jumpers, tried removing the battery, but my monitor don’t show anything. Lights on mouse and keyboard is also off. What should I try to do?

After that when powered it just spins the fans and nothing happens.

Which tasks where you performing when the temp got to 98° C?
You should reset the BIOS to default.
Power off, disconnect power cord, press power button for 20 seconds and remove the CMOS battery.
Wait 5 minutes, then place CMOS battery back, connect power cord and turn PC on.

The max temp for the 2400G is 95° C....so 98° C is a very high temperature to reach just while playing a game.
Check the heatsink and CPU and make sure both are seated properly.

They are, but that was because of overclock, and problem now is not the tempareture, but that system don’t run at all

Idk guys, the mobo has protection right? Its very unlikeable you killed your cpu.. Did you use the stock thermal paste or did you apply some yourself? Also what is your power supply? Thats very important also

What is your ram? Ryzen requires at least 3000mhz

Now when I read the OP again, those crashes you re experiencing could have been from overheating. Though as I said its very unlikeable that you killed your cpu.. Do you have any warranty? Do you have any friends with cpus that support your mobo or could you take the pc to an authorized person?

I really don't believe the cmos reset didnt work. Could you try it again? And if it doesnt work try running the PC without a CMOS battery and hope for results

Warranty is over when overclocking, am I right? I can’t find any AM4 CPU sadly

I tryed CMOS few times, but nothing happens. No display, no POST beeps, power button on the case still isn’t shutting the pc off, only thing that I noticed that my mouse sensors light is blinking now.
Just did it without CMOS battery and nothing changex

If the CPU is alive they can't tell if you ve overclocked it, because the OC profile is on your motherboard. Try everything you possibly can and if nothing gives results send the CPU to the authorized technicians
